I remember cueing a class through a strong slider workout—slow and precise. Sliders—you either love them or hate them. But I had a student approach me after class and say something along the lines of, “I didn’t know I could feel this strong without fighting myself.” Her epiphany that she’s stronger than she knew was also an epiphany for me. I was reminded that I am constantly getting to know my strength.
That moment stayed with me. It showed me that strength doesn’t always look like gritting your teeth or maxing out. Sometimes, it looks like softening into your breath. Often, it’s giving yourself grace and being compassionate with where you are now.
