I first began to move with more ease when I stopped performing strength and, instead, started listening to the quiet whispers of my body.
Admittedly, it didn’t happen during a HIIT class or in the middle of a 20-minute Tabata session—formats I still love, by the way. Rather, it happened on a slow, rainy October morning after a long, intuitive stretch. There was no playlist. No mirror. No agenda. Just me, my breath, and the gentle rhythm of my awareness.
In that post-stretch stillness, something clicked. I realized I had been moving from a place of pressure. Pressure to prove I belonged. Pressure to do more, look a certain way, be in control. But in truth, I wasn’t in control. I was operating from an outdated narrative—and frankly, I was just plain exhausted.
So, from that insight, I began to weave together a new kind of movement experience. One that could help us reclaim our energy, not drain it. That experience became Flow, our October calendar inside Barre Eclipse.
